Oswald Cromheecke (Ekeren, 18 January 1990) is a Belgian animator, illustrator & producer/DJ also known as Boogie Belgique.
He lives in Antwerp and studied Illustration and animation at Sint Lucas (Ghent).
Born in a family of artists (father: Luc Cromheecke, mother: Sabine De Meyer, sister: Lucy Cromheecke ) he started drawing and animating at a very early age.
In 2012 he started working together with Boris Bonne (a fellow student and friend) on several animations for music bands, documentaries and plays (theater). That same year they exhibited their work in the Belgian embassy of Brazil in Brussels.
One year later, in 2013, Oswald Cromheecke released his debut album “Blueberry Hill” with Boogie Belgique.
Boogie Belgique rapidly gained airplay and numerous listeners around Europe and released 4 albums between 2012-2016. They played shows in Greece, France, Romania, Turkey, The Netherlands, Switzerland, The United Kingdom and Belgium.
All artwork, animated videoclips and live visuals were made by Oswald Cromheecke.
At this day Oswald Cromheecke combines Boogie Belgique with other projects.
Recently he worked together with Poolhert (Marie De Hert, Ellen Pollard) on their latest documentary “Ingewikkeld” which aired on Belgian television in November 2016.
